Six Years today..

Today is my wedding anniversary. I just looked back through my blog archives to see what I wrote last year about it. I found nothing at all! So this year I am going to write about me and Nolan and our LOVE. The day was May 7th, 2004. We'd been apart for 2 weeks prior, the longest separation we'd had since knowing each other. The day before we reunited and all our families were there to have a BBQ together the night before. It was a night of getting to know everyone and of laughter and excitement.
Nolan and I parted ways, he with the boys to do a little mini golfing and milkshake drinking, me with my girls for the most fun Bachelorette party that my best friend Katie had set up. The decor was so great, and the food, laughter, company, and karaoke made me appreciate all the support.
The next morning I woke up next to my old college roommate, and my future sister in-law. I was so nervous. We got ready and went to the morning brunch at the golf course our reception would be later that night. It was a special morning because each family member gave a little speech about Nolan or I and the love and gratitude was there. Not too mention the food was AMAZINGLY good.
Once at the temple I got ready and put my dress on. I walked out of the room and down the hallway Nolan was standing there. I wasn't expecting to see him until we were in the sealing room, and it took me a moment to realize he was there. He had tears in his eyes and the excitement overwhelmed me. We sat together alone in the Celestial room together for a few minutes and it was very special to me. I had been thinking of my mom all morning and was filled with the love that she had for Nolan and I.

We walked into the room that was full of people I love and I felt completely overwhelmed with happiness. Everything felt right. We had a party that night. Lots of dancing and eating. I made a few silly comment by accident but that is just what I do in a group setting where I get nervous and flustered. We drove off in a golf carts that had been decorated.
We went on our honeymoon to San Diego for a week. Total Bliss. We came home to our home in Malta for the summer, and our family had cleaned, stocked, and decorated it for us. All our unopened presents were sitting in our living room and the first morning there we opened like made men. The reception in Malta was that weekend at his parents house and it was beautiful. I loved putting my dress back on again.

A few months later we moved to Logan and went to school and worked. We saw each other just a few hours each night, but it's a time that was totally dedicated to us. We loved playing games, and watching movies and eating pizza from the box on our floor. A year later we moved into our first purchased home in Smithfield Utah, which we actually still have;-)and a year after that had Thomas. And you've been updated from then on our blog pretty much.
Life moves so quickly but it's special to reflect on those times we had. We've changed a lot and grown together. I feel like we are a lot different than when we met, and I think it's because we have each taken things from each other and become better.
I can't wait to see what the next 6 six may bring and how differently our life will be with a 10 and 8 year old. I love you Nolan!

I can't believe it's been 6 years today!! On one hand, it feels like Nolan's been in our family forever, but on the other it feels like it wasn't that long ago. Also, you look SO young in those pictures. You're so grown up now...haha.
Congratulations! Have a Happy Anniversary!! Love you both! :)
