Since we've been home for a few weeks I thought it was time to officially make Grace and Thomas share a room. So we tried it for a few weeks, and it was long and hard. Thomas takes a while to fall asleep and it isn't him laying there looking up at the ceiling, it's crying, playing talking, etc. Needless to say he woke Grace up every time. Then when she cried he wouldeither cry or come out and we would have to put him back in, and then Grace cried even harder. Finally she would fall back asleep if we laid in there making Thomas stay still and quiet, but imagine that, he would not fall asleep and Grace would wake back up forcing us to take her out until Thomas fell asleep, but it was too late for Grace to be going to bed at night.
So then I thought, well I will just set up the pack n' play in our room and make Thomas sleep in until he realizes how much he likes his lightning bed. Kind of a reverse psychology thing. Well no luck! He now hates his bed even more, and screams until he can sleep in the pack n' play. So we lost our good sleep companion Grace in our room, and now have crazy Thomas. Woops, they sure fooled us. Needless to say we are really looking for a bigger rental! Why does 1 more bedroom require $500 more a month in rent?

Apparantly today he didn't even want to sleep in his pack n play because I went in our room to check on him and found him like this.

That is too funny in a "ohhh sorry" kind of way. Makes me wonder what it will be like with our 2nd!
We haven't tried putting our boys in the same room yet, but plan to eventually. Sorry it's so hard right now! Hope it gets better.
Sorry to hear it isn't working out. I remember those days. We now just lay down with both our boys together and then leave when they are asleep. It seems to work really well. But I remember when Mason was a baby we had to get Dallin to sleep before Mason. I know people say never lay down with them until they fall asleep, because they won't be able to sleep on their own. That hasn't been true with our boys. And we usually don't have to lay with them for very long. I am sure at first we did, but now it is the norm and they are asleep in a few minutes. We are all there at one point so don't feel bad, you are doing just fine. Just hang in there, you will find something that works I am sure.
that's quite the dilemma...sadly I have no advice...Well, he may not sleep but he sure is cute! :)
I sure wish Thomas could get this figured out. What a pain! Keep trying, maybe someday :)
No extra $500 needed in Dayton. I'm sure I could find you a HOUSE for around what your paying in rent now.... just a thought!
That is so hard! These little toddlers sure know how to manipulate! Good luck!
I am exhausted just reading that. I'm going to bed now. Is T still napping? I have to lay down with the girls till they sleep or they just party the whole time. Good luck finding what works for Mr. T!
We all know I wouldn't be able to handle it! I don't have any pointers, but at least he's potty trained? Cute little bum in those big boy undies!
Losing sleep is no good. Ellie has never been that great of a sleeper either, but it does sound like Thomas is a bit harder than her. Good luck with getting him back in his bed.
so sorry you are having sleep issues! When we put the twins in their big boy beds at 2, I thought the madness would never end! Just remember... this too shall pass!
Oh man! Sorry Ashley! That doesn't sound like fun. I hope you can find a bigger place so you can get some place!
I am so sorry! We have been spoiled with Madison. She will sleep for 10 hours a night at least. I am cherishing my sleep right now though because those long nights of sleep will be gone in 3 weeks when baby #2 shows up.
but at least thomas was keeping thomas the train nice and dry, right?
It's a good thing they come cute!! My boys used to jump from one bed to the other, just in case someone wanted to sleep. Makes you laugh and cry and at the same time.
AHHH! Are you serious? That stinks so bad. I hope it gets better soon.
we have been doing bedroom swapping and trading lately too. Just last night we put Macie back in Tessa's room (because we had just moved Chase back in with Hunter) and it was a disaster. We moved the crib back downstairs quicker than the time it took to set it up. So silly. Macie just wasn't going to sleep in there. It is stressful and all I can say is that it made for two grouchy parents. It does get better...because it can't possibly get worse!
Wish I could help...Our little man still wakes up every 2 hours to eat! Ahh, when will that stop?! You are way ahead of us on all the tricks and tools of parenting, so I say you are doing great even though it's tough right now for you guys! I love the picture of Thomas in his unders!!So cute!
