Luckily we were feeling better by the weekend and on our way home we did a little boating.
I got up on a slalom, but it didn't last too long, so put on the wake board and did the best I have all summer!
Also saw the best farmer, or should I say biker, tan line in my life but unfortunately didn't get a picture. You know who you are. And the cutest blond haired boy taught my Gracie girl how to suck a binkie. It's quite comical that she loves sucking on them now, because since about 3 months she has never wanted them. She doesn't use it to fall asleep, but it keeps her busy in the car, or at home when I can't get to her. So funny! I'll post a picture another time.
Now we're home without a trip planned for a month and a half. Feels nice to know we'll be here for awhile. Here some random Harper news/tidbits for ya
--We had a house lined up to rent this month, but it didn't happen. We were definitely bummed, but a lot of factors just didn't feel right.
--Thomas has been diaper free for 2 full days. Not without accident, but he has been staying dry for naps and bedtime. We'll see what happens.
--It's been hecka hot here, I mean everyone is dealing with the heat, but with our lame wall a/c unit, it just doesn't do the job. Don't you hate it when you sweat on the back of your leg where your knee bends? Is there a better way to describe that location?
--I have been to the DMV 6 times, no exaggeration, trying to figure out my WA license stuff. Still don't have one after passing the written and driving tests, lots more paperwork. Word of advice:
DON'T LET YOUR LICENSE EXPIRE EVER UNLESS YOU PLAN ON NOT GETTING ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!!! Talk about headache.
--Bought some Cheetos today come to find out they were the FLAMING HOT kind.
Not even enjoyable. I am going to put them out on the sidewalk with a "Consume at your own risk" sign. Seriously disgusting, they brought Thomas to tears, and I was downing apple slices to rid myself of the taste. Does anyone eat these things?
--Does anyone else get dizzy after looking at the computer for awhile? Okay now I am just getting random!

A post full of news, that is great. I am sorry you guys got so sick. I HATE throwing up or having my kids throw up. Looks like a nice place you got to stay. Go Thomas with the potty training. I hope it continues...I am proud of you. I have tried those cheetos and they are not my favorite for sure. Good job getting up skiing......even for a second counts!!! I'm jealous of all the boating you guys have been able to do. I wish I could send you some of our weather. I don't think it has really gotten to 90...80's yes but it has been great. I laughed at how you said it feels good to know you will be home for awhile.....a month and a half. Glen and I really need to get out or something. He is crazy busy right now though. Matthew hadn't seen Glen since Monday until later this afternoon. I saw him for a few seconds at 5 in the morning and again a few minutes at 11 at night. Sorry so long I really should have called or wrote an email. love ya!!!!!!
So you think you can dance is on.......at least for me!!! YEAH kids are asleep and Glen is at mutual. Why aren't we neighbors??
Stink about the house. I was bummed when I found out you didn't so it. I'll have to hear more details later. Sounds like things are going pretty darn good with Thomas and the potty. Keep up the good work. Have fun at home. Hope you get your license soon.
That is great Thomas is potty trained! Your sickness sounds like food poisioned. Glad you ended up having fun tho.
Oh I am sorry to hear you guys got that awful stomach bug. My parents and siblings got it but luckily Tim, Ian, and I did not get even the slightest bit of it. You place in Park City look beautiful. Looks like you guys have definitely been keeping busy. Enjoy some home time.
P.S. Congrats and good luck to Thomas on potty training :)
yuck, i hate being sick! i definitely know how poor little T was feeling [in the essence of throwing up, not so much the icky diarrhea--i lost like 10 pounds in about an hour from throwing up so much].
those flaming cheetos are nasty! and i definitely hate it when the back of my knee sweats! it makes me feel sticky. ha!
haha, I LOVE your updates. You are funny. First of all, yeah for Thomas and potty training! We want to start training Stone ASAP (we were going to this week, but it's been pushed back). He tries changing his own diapers, so we figure he's ready.
Ummm, flaming hot cheetos are the BEST!!! ESP. the limon kind. They are favorites around this house, and Stone can't get enough!
Sorry about the house. You'll find something.
Lastly, back of knee sweat is bad, but it beats cleavage sweat. haha.
Those Cheetos look pretty nasty! Too bad about being sick away from home, especially for poor little Thomas. I always feel so bad for Ellie when she throws up. I met your cute sister at the adoption conference in Layton. It was kind of random and she probably thinks I am a creeper but I saw her and recognized her and realized it was from your blog and so I just had to speak up, especially since I am excited about her being pregnant and all. It was my first time meeting someone in person after reading their blog.
Man...I wish we could see you guys...I am so sad it didn't work to hook up. I know the biker you are talking about and we would have loved to have seen them too.:(
Sorry you got so sick, that really stinks...but awesome on the potty training! Go Thomas!
Sick kids are definitely one of the low points of having them! What a bummer that you both had to get it. Glad you're feeling better. Potty training is also another unfavorite part of being a mom, in my opinion. But, if we didn't have unfavorite (which isn't really a word, I know) parts, we surely wouldn't enjoy all the good parts (which are way to many to list). Good luck getting settled in for a month or so.
p.s. thanks for being such a faithful commentor. I can always count on my first comment (often only comment) being from you! : )
wow, I'm sorry you guys got so sick! That sounds miserable - glad you're feeling better. It sounds like potty training is going well right now - that's awesome...I hear boys are a lot more difficult than girls when it comes to potty training so maybe with Grace it will be really easy :)
The title should be "I'm stinkin' funny". You crack me up! Bummer for getting sick, no fun. It looks like you guys have had a crazy busy summer so far. We are going to Boise tomorrow but when we get back we need to have you guys out here. btw if you really did put the Cheetos out on the sidewalk and I saw them...soo funny! I'm sure I would have done a blog post on the funny cheetos =0)
(oh and we might buy a house, if we do this rental will be open, $600 buckaroos a month baby! Only down side is it's in Dayton. but WE ARE HERE!!!)
Being sick is the worst!! I'm glad it's over. I'm feeling relieved to be home for you! haha. It sounds like you've had a lot of fun, but I can't imagine being on the road as much as you guys have this summer with two little kiddos. It must be nice to be home. Hopefully another house will line itself up for you. Good luck with the lisence. What a nightmare.
seriously, I cannot believe how much you are on the move!! That is a huge accomplishment of itself. AND Jeff and I ate those flaming hot cheetohs once. . . I think we liked them. We aren't big cheetoh eaters, though. But we DO like the spicy. That is exciting about Thomas! Potty training is fun! :)
Looks like a nice place to stay, wish we could have joined you at the outlet malls! I haven't been to one in years. Sorry about getting sick though. THose chips are disgusting, and I deffinatly get dizzy when staring at the comp too long. Ha ha you make me laugh. Sorry about the house not working out, I am sure something else will come along.
I like your randomness, I don't know how I feel about flaming cheetos, and I know I feel weird about you still saying 'hecka'.
There's a lot of names you could use for that post. There's a lot going on with you. Sorry you were sick, glad you are feeling better. Way to go with Thomas, hope he can keep it up. I can't get Brookyln interested at all! The flaming hot Cheetos - I hate em! My brothers had them once and my girls love Cheetos, I tried to convince them they would not like them, they didn't believe me but within a few minutes wished they would have!
What a pretty place you got to stay!! Sounds like a fun time. The pic of Nolan and Thomas is really cute too! I am sorry you were sick though, that really stinks. Yea for Thomas on the potty!!
Oh Ashley, you make me smile :) I love the cheetos part. Yes who invtented that kind seriously? Good job Thomas on the potty! I've started Kaleb this week and it's lots of fun! NOT! Maybe I should just wait until he starts waking up dry from bed?
Glad you're home for a while for a break. Maybe if you get bored you can come over here?
Oh I love Park City...and boating...and cheetos (NOT the flaming kind though). Post potty trained children are AWESOME! Sorry about the getting sick part!
I love flaming hot cheetos. They're perfect with an Icee from QT. Yum! I can't believe you still don't have your license. That's been like a month of DMV adventures! I'm so sorry. Also sorry you guys got sick, but I'm crossing my fingers for Thomas' potty training!
Isn't it so nice to have only one in diapers? I let my Utah drivers license expire and just got my Kentucky license. It was the biggest pain! I think I went to the DMV at least 4 different times! I feel your pain! That stinks that you did not get a house. Glad that you guys get to stay home for a little bit!
Taylor and I both got a stomach bug back in January when I was pregnant. Pregnancy generally makes every sickness worse. Taylor's lasted longer than mine, but I had it WAY worse than she did, luckily(?). Hope you are both feeling better!
and if you want to get technical, the area behind the knee is the popliteal fossa.. haha
