I cut about 3-5 inches depending on the layer off my hair. The girl definitely didn't follow my directions and cut it like my last most favorite hair cut. It's the shortest I have ever had it, but no pictures, still trying to figure out how to do it right haha! It's not my favorite cut, and the lady even said whoops while cutting it. She was like I can't fix it it would just keep getting shorter and shorter. Oh well, I guess that is my cue to grow my hair out again. It'll look good eventually, hopefully?? I had achievement days yesterday and they notice every little thing about you, and they all asked if I cut my hair, to which I replied yes, and one girl was like, "I'm sorry but I don't like it." I'm going to her from now on if I need an honest opinion.

Nolan also cut his hair. It was the longest I had ever seen him grow it. He was going for the shaggy look, but we couldn't take it any longer so it got the buzz. It looks so great
HineysYeah! Thomas is finally potty trained. It is such a huge relief, and I never realized how free I would feel when he just did his business on his own. Maybe because I have been pestering him about it everyday until it clicked! The biggest thing that motivated him I think was taking advice from my cousin and giving him cold showers after every accident. What had taken 5 week of being very patient I resorted to it and he was trained the next week. I guess some kids need different motivators.
Health
Grace had a four day fever of 104 but it finally broke and I took her into her one year appointment. She was measuring pretty little, 18 lbs even so we won't be moving her forward facing in the car for awhile probably. She is doing well since her shots though and is back to her old self.
Things here are going well. We spent a week in Boise and had a great time getting the kids pictures done, seeing my sisters progress with the baby stuff, and hanging out with family. It had been 3 months since I was home last so it was nice. Now we are back to having about one trip a month starting in October with Nolans work schedule.
I have stayed busy watching a little girls Graces age. She is closer to Thomas' size than Graces and fully walks so she seems older but I think it's been good for all of them to be around each other. Anyways, this is the update, we are loving the weather here, shorts and short sleeved still, but we can manage to stay outside for a long time. Last weekend we rode our bikes around, went to a park, and played tennis. We're looking forward to October for Thomas 3rd birthday on the 21st and Halloween.

i want to see your hair! I'm sure it's darling. you always look great. way to go Toms (remember jack calling him this?) with potty training! I can't believe he'll be 3 in a month. Jack turns 4 in 2 days! I am hating it. I think you should have left Nolan's hair like the picture. When are you ever going to come back to visit? You always have a place to stay here! p.s- i'll be posting later tonight!
I always brace myself when I get my haircut. I have been in your shoes a lot. You are so beautiful, I am sure you can make anything look great. I have never heard that tip for potty training. I seriously needed that cold shower advice, like 6 months ago! Hunter still struggles (right now we're using a timer to remind us) but I just might try a cold shower on him.
I thought that picture of Nolan's hair was the final product, I was a little worried!! haha. I am sure you're hair looks great, so you should just post pictures. Remember when you cut it short last time and you only liked it after the girl did it and you were always like "I can't do it!!" and really frustrated, you ended up loving that hair cut, so just remember that. Also, never trust a little kid's opinion. Remember when RaeAnn's sunday school kid wanted "a dead sister arnesen" for Christmas? (At least I think that's what it was.) Thank goodness RaeAnn didn't listen to him! haha. I can't believe Grace was so sick, poor little girl. I'm glad she's doing better now, and SO glad Thomas is potty trained. Does this mean he doesn't run around the house naked anymore? :)
I love the title of this post! Sorry to hear that you didn't like your haircut..It seems like I always leave the hair salon unhappy, then a few days later feel better about it! I also want to say, oh my gosh, I think my little Mason weighs more than Grace(by like a pound)!! Have fun getting ready for Thomas's birthday, thats going to be exciting.
I want to see the cut...I bet it is cute. I've never seen you not look cute! Glad to hear Thomas is potty trained. I have this crazy idea that I'm going to potty train Els before the babies are born. I hope it works -- diapers for three sounds, well, really stinky. Miss you guys! I'm bummed there is no FL visit planned for December. We're moving to a bigger, cooler house and we'd love to have you visit anytime!!!
Love that picture of Nolan's hair :) At first I thought it was your hair! lol! Then your haircut really would be bad! Yay for thomas and the showers ;) I'm so happy it worked for him too. Where's your pictures of Boise trip? How much do you get paid to babysit? Or is it for free?
Sorry about your hair, I am sure it is still cute. But good thing your hair grows fast! So sorry Grace was so sick. Glad she is doing better. A few of my friends swear by the cold shower! Remember Theresa Fife and Brian Jensen, they are getting married! Shelbi Tobol asked how you were doing the other day.She is living in San Francisco area. I have tried to get her into the blogging thing, but I haven't been successful. You should try. Oh and Sarah Wear asked about you the other day. Her link is on my page. She has a blog. She lives here, has for 4 years. Just thought you should know you are sooooo popular around here, and you need to come and visit! HAHA!
the hair is cute...maybe not usual ashley cuteness, but cute for everyone else's standards. trust me.
Oh Man Ashley, This post made me laugh so hard! Nolan's hair really freaked me out. I'm not sure I've seen it that long. I like the shorter look, although he has a lot of great natural highlights so it looks good longer too. I want to see a picture of your hair. I'm thinking of chopping mine. Any cute ideas? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you put Thomas in a cold shower!! Cracked me up! I have never heard of that. You are so patient and good to try everything and anything, then when enough is enough you can still be tough. I love it. I'm so proud of you!! Way to go with the potty training!! Man, I hope Grace is better. Was it roseola? It sounds like she is one of my babies. All of them were 18-19 lbs at a year. I love that they stay little. I think we still put them forwards, bad I know. Man, I need to see you again. I miss you!
Alright -me too! There is no way your hair looks horrible. You could buzz it and you would still look cute! Sounds like things are going well -congrats to Thomas I have heard of the cold shower thing. Good to know although you might have to remind me when the time comes for us. So sorry to hear that Grace has been sick -that just sounds horrible. Can't wait to see what fun things you have in store next!
I'm sure your hair looks fine! I know, isn't it a huge relief when your kid is potty trained? I love it!
I am sorry you aren't loving your hair. Scary to hear a whoops. Nolan's hair is pretty crazy. I have noticed he was growing it out and liked it longer but from the picture I can see it was getting really long. I'm glad Thomas is fully potty trained now. Way to go. I'm not looking forward to doing it which is probably why we haven't yet. Love ya
I want to see it! I'm sure it looks fine. But, don't you hate haircuts when it turns out completely how you didn't expect it to or want it to? It's the worst when you think it's going to be great and it turns out not so great. I know the feeling. I can't believe that's what worked for potty training for you!! Way to go, though.
I want to see a pic of your hair too. I can't imagine any haircut looking bad on you. And Nolan had quite the shag going on. That is exciting to have Thomas potty trained. I have talked to a few people who used the cold shower method.
You need to put up a picture of your hair. I am sure that it is not that bad. It is so nice when they finally get potty trained. Love the cold shower trick. It only took once with Kasen. Addie was only 19lbs at her one year check up. Hope you have a fun trip to Boise!
Loved the update...I want to see pictures of your hair - I was actually thinking about cutting mine again because I hate the inbetween stage, but after reading this post maybe I'll keep growing it. That's great that Thomas is potty trained, and I'm glad that Grace is feeling better. I've actually been a little nervous for these 12 months, so you made me feel better :)
Lets see a picture! I got mine cut too and it's not right either! Aughhh. I'm glad Thomas is potty trained and hope Grace is better!
Oooh put a pic up of your hair!! I'm sure it looks great!! And way to go Thomas for potty training!!
Thanks for the comment! But I accidentally posted to early and added a lot more pics you need to take another look. Thanks again!
You've had a lot going on. I love your posts. They're always so interesting. You guys always have something going on. I just have to shake my head about Nolan and his hair. It's just like changing constantly. You've gotta send a picture of your hair. Come on! I just did a nice hacking job on my bangs. Even my unobservant husband noticed. He's doing good with the eyes. Still not quite there yet, but we're trying to be patient. Savannah's potty trained too! We have just entered a new stage of life! It feels so great! Glad to hear Grace is feeling better. We just got back from Malta and have four kids sick now. Fevers, coughing, sore throats, runny noses, etc. Yeah! One more day out of school (it was UEA weekend and had Thurs. & Fri. off)!
Ugh! It is so hard to find a good stylist. When you find one....you'll stick with them forever! Sorry it isn't your favorite....but I bet it looks cuter than you think!
