Grace's first trip to the ER...
Every Wednesday night I attend mutual with the Young Women in our ward. And last night we drove 45 minutes away to eat at a very nice place as a group. I left Nolan with the kids, and when I got home and asked how things went he said he was at the E.R. most of the time. Immediately my head went into panic mode. Luckily it wasn't as bad as I thought it was, but still broke my heart to hear of her falling at a park and getting this huge gash on her chin. It sounded like a pretty huge gash, Nolan said it was the the size of a skittle opening just a lot longer.
He tried bandaging it up, but it was bleeding a lot and would just open up again. So he took her to the Instant Care, but they said he needed to go to the ER. She got three stitches and it sounded like she handled the whole process very well. Thomas was a great big brother and this morning they both filled me in on the whole experience and the thing they talked about the most was about these Popsicles the doctors gave them. It's moments like this I want to never leave my kids and put them in a plastic bubble, poor girl. These are the first stitches in our family, and I hope the LAST!
Oh yea, Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! We should have asked if they could put green stitches in!! Haha

OH MY GOSH! That is so sad!! Poor Gracie! Now she's like all the Blodgett girls though...welcome to the scar on the chin club, Grace.
poor little Grace!! I am amazed how well kids handle certain situations. I love that they talked about getting popsicles. i hope you guys have a good accident free day. love ya
SO sad.. Prob not the first or last. Kids are braver than we give credit for! My boys have both visited those places. THey both have a slit on their eye in the same spot!!
Of course it had to be the girl that has stitches first! Poor Gracie. I bet Nolan handled it really well. If I were you I would be glad I was gone, I'm not near as calm as the Harper blood seems to be! Popciles can fix everything too.
Poor baby!!! I got stiches in that same place when I was her age. I have a cute little scar to show for it. :) I hope it wasn't a traumatic experience for Nolan!
Matthew and Max both have a scar on that exact spot! Actually, I think Mason might have one as well. Poor Grace!
So sorry! We have had a few scarey falls here too and it makes me want to never leave their sides either, like you said. Oh she is going to be so tough after all of this :) Glad they were treated with popsicles after!!
How scary!! I'm always paranoid something like will happen when I'm with the kids by myself. Poor Grace! But what a little trooper. Hope the healing goes quickly! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Oh my goodness! I am glad she is handling everything so well.
OH my goodness! Nolan called Jakes phone wondering if I was with you....I wish Jake would have asked more questions! We could have at least gotten Thomas! Poor girl!
hey i was going to say 'welcome to the chin-scar-club'! Those parks are deathly! love you gracie girl!
That's sure too bad. I guess I'm part of the chin scar club too! I had stitches there too when I was little. I think all boys whoever played football have that scar. Doesn't Nolan? Nate does.
Oh poor poor Grace, That is so sad! macey had stitches when she was little and it was the saddest thing ever. I hope she feels better soon!
Oh poor Grace! I wish we could just keep our kids in a bubble, but I guess they have to go through life too. Glad they remembered the popsicles the most, kids are so cute!
Oh poor little Gracie girl! How sad! I hope she feels better and things work out for her!
I can feel for pretty Gracie, but her's looks more traumatic than mine. .. When I was younger I used to pull myself up on the dresser to look at myself in the mirror and my hands would slip off, so of course I came crashing down on my chin. I did this countless times. Should have gotten stitches and never did, so now I have this awkward scar.
Ewww! I can hardly look at it without wincing. I'm a baby. Good thing Grace is tough! Ouch. I had a horrible day that same day with shutting Eliza's two fingers in the door. Maybe the bubble is not such a bad idea :)
I'm so sorry Grace had to have stitches! Jenny had some in the same place when she was about the same age!
Ouch! It's crazy how life can throw you a curve ball like that every once in a while. One minute nothing is happening and the next you are in the ER. I hope she's o.k. and that it heals good.
