Everyone complains about January being such a long month and so
boring but I really like it. I don't know if it is because my birthday
falls during this month or if it is all the New Year's resolutions to
make everybody a little bit better but it's always been one of my
favorite months! It started out with my birthday and we finally got with
it and got an iPad. I am actually posting through it right now using
Siri even so forgive any errors that may occur. I have really enjoyed
having it. My birthday was really a good day. We had a huge snowstorm
and all the roads were closed from our house so we stayed in.
My sister
in law across the street made us a really yummy dinner and we hung out
there playing games and hanging out. It was a great day!
The rest of the month we have
been enjoying all the snow. Nolan has gone Snowmobiling quite a bit and
the kids really love making snowmen and sledding.
Farming is not too
busy right now so we have enjoyed having Nolan home a lot more. Two
weeks ago we went out to Logan for a friends little girls birthday party
and spent the night there. They just bought a beautiful home, and it made me want to totally copy it for our future house.
We love spending time with our old
Smithfield friends! I have been home alone for a few nights this month
and have enjoyed having some girls over for girls night. I also got
really into watching down downton Abby and finished all three seasons already. Oh if I were only Britian! I love that time period and grand
traditions!
Emma is 10 months old and is becoming quite the character in our home. She eats like a fat man, and moves like a feline. Haha. She's our first kid to love the toliet and we have a strict close the bathroom door rule in our house now.Or else I will find her in there splashing away. She loves the tub too and even without water she will climb in and squawk until I come get her or fill it with water for her.
Nolan and I went night skiing the last week of January and it was so much fun. We went to this little ski hill 40 minutes from here. We were on the lift more than the mountain, but it was really nice to have so much time to talk, laugh, and relax. We hadn't been skiing since the day we got engaged 9 years ago! So glad Nolan's mom was kind enough to watch the kids for us. About 3 hours after we'd been skiing Nolan hit a huge divet with the front of his ski and wiped out. The top joint of his thumb completely got dislocated. He popped it back in and we went on two more runs, but the pain got worse and we went to the ER. They sort of splinted him up and the next day he got X-Rays and all was fine. He just has to wear a splint for 3 weeks. PHEW! It didn't ruin our evening and we got yogurt on our drive home. He's such a trooper!
That was January, now onto February and LOVE week! My cousin Denae inspires me so I will be doing it for the 4 year in a row. Feel free to join. Love to you all!

I love that you got yogurt after your ER visit :) and I love that you love Downton! I just want to live there! Such an awesome period of life.
Ouch on Nolan's thumb! But fun to go on a date : ) that's funny about Emma in the toilet. Makes me worried about Jane.
Emma and the toilet/tub made me laugh! Why is it that kids love toilets! So fun!
