Up, Up, And Away

This needs to be documented....
THIS IS MY 200TH POST! WOOT WOOT!
Gotta love the fake "CHEESE" smile!
This is overdue, but every year Walla Walla has a balloon festival. We didn't actually go up in one, but one of these years I would like to try it. People say it's really an amazing, calm experience. But did you know they can't steer at all, only determine the height?? Trucks just follow them and pick them up where they land. That makes me a little nervous. We told Thomas to get his hat, but I don't think a hard hat is needed for this kind of outing. It's pretty amazing to see how big these things are close up and what it takes to get them in the air. The coke bottle was crazy big. I can't remember all the history of it but it's one of the biggest and definitely the biggest in Walla Walla, and it's too big to fly. It was a little breezy that day and there were a few times that it once it was fully blown up it almost blew over and landed on crowds of people. Wind plays a huge factor in this sport for sure. We had a good time seeing them all and enjoying the fair food that makes us feel sick afterwards!

Grace slept forever after in pretty much this position. I don't know how that's comfortable, but it's so cute.

Wow, those balloons are huge! I don't think I could go up in one, I would freak out I am pretty sure! Love the hat Thomas wanted to wear!

Looks like fun. I'm not sure I would want to go up in one though. I'm getting really excited to see you again!

How fun! And I totally agree about fair food. I LOVE it while I'm eating it, and feel so gross and sick afterwards.

This looks like so much fun. I've always wanted to go to a balloon festival. Grace is so cute sleeping all curled up in a ball. We miss you guys!

Happy 200th bday, I mean post. I love the picture of Thomas with the hat, because he does that with his hands when he is really happy and laughing. Also, Jenna is sleepign like that Gracie pic! I guess she read the billboard "sleep with Grace" as "sleep like Grace". Come on Jenna, sound it out.

Holla! 200th post! I love hot air balloons! They really are amazing! I remember every summer morning in Boise when driving to swim practice there would be about a dozen in the sky! So cool! Grace looks darling sleeping!

How cool. I know there is a balloon festival in New Mexico too. My brother in law said it was crazy. Hundreds of balloons. Really that's awesome. But I agree, not being able to steer sort of seems crazy. I tend to be a little bit of a control freak so that wouldn't float very well with me!

That festival looks like fun - you totally should go up in a balloon one year; I've done it once a long time ago and thought it'd be scary but it was wonderful. And way to go on the 200th post...impressive!

What a fun day, especially for the kiddos to see :) We wanted to go up in a balloon for our anniversary, but it didn't happen. Maybe someday we can go together.
