Sum, Sum, Summertime!

June was a great month! For the most part the weather has been really nice, and the kids play outside a ton. Each week we had Thomas's baseball practice and games to look forward to. He really liked the season, and had a whole new group of kids on his team. He is getting better about sportsmanship too so that was a good thing!
They hit twice a game, and get three tries hitting a pitched ball, an then go to the T. Thomas was about 1/2 and 1/2 for hitting the pitched ball. He also caught a pop fly one game and it was hilarious to see the surprise look on his face!
In the middle of June, we had our Smithfield friends the Toolsons, Ferrins, and Buckleys out to play, chat, eat, and do a little craft. We've been able to get together once a month for the past 4 months. It's something I look forward to and our 12, soon to be 15 kids by the end of this year, love doing!

Here they are oldest to youngest besides the babies being held.
Grace really surprised us one day when she wanted to ride her bike without the training wheels. Nolan is so nice to take them on and off for them, I would have told her to wait because I didn't think she could do it.

She took off though, and in about an hour had it down really well. We haven't got her starting on her own yet, but I am sure it's not too far behind. Way to Go Grace!
And our little Emma Jean is just along for the ride. She is such a content little girl. Around the 16th of June she started walking and it has made her so happy. She loves to be outside and many times I find her sitting in the stroller just waiting to be walked. That's one of the biggest things I miss about a bigger city is going on walks all over town and running into people. We have the same route we do each night, and it's getting old for me :-)
She is a good sport about getting sprayed with the sprinker. She doesn't quite understand how to avoid it, but takes it without complaining. I think she always gets more wet than any of the other kids. I need to remember to put her suit on.
Now time for July. Should be a fun  month of celebrating the fourth, 2 family reunions, and a 10 year high school reunion.

Oh Emma is walking! So fun. I can't believe you host 3 families at once! I can barely do 1 family at a time. The kids probably have a blast though. Can't wait to see you next week!!

I loved it. There's little more that I loved than when Amelia wants to be outside. I like that Emma is ready for her 'daily constitution'! This post made me want to hang out with our kids..

I want to be one of your kids. So much fun. That picture of Grace on the bike & Thomas playing ball captures summer. love/hate that Emma is getting so big.

I just caught up on your blog!!! I'm so bad with blogs now, including keeping my own up. Now that google reader is gone, I have stopped looking at ALL blogs! :( I never imported my information into a different reader program, and now it feels overwhelming to do so! But I saw you were having a boy, so I had to get on here and see if I missed an announcement somewhere!!! CONGRATS!!!

If you thought this was good try one of these...
