In the middle of May, my older sister RaeAnn had a baby girl name Macey Paige. I had to get there as quickly as I could so once Thomas was out of school the kids and I packed up and drove to Seattle. My sister in-law Tayna and Grandma Susy took care of Emma for the week so I could stay sane for the 10 and 1/2 hour drive! The kids were so amazing on the drive. We even hit a 2 hour traffic delay and they hardly complained. I was probably more frustrated than they were. It was the craziest traffic I had been in. No cause, just busy. It was so long, the kids were going to the bathroom in cups in the car. Too much information? Sorry. Sufficient to say, it was all worth it when we pulled into their driveway and got to meet this sweet baby!
It was fun seeing their new digs in Seattle, and so nice to picture where they are now. The house has 3 floors and the kids spent a lot of their time in the basement with all the toys.
We went to a chocolate factory one day and you can sample as much as you want. I thought my kids would be in heaven, but they ate a 1/2 a piece and gave it to me saying they didn't like it.
One of the stores associates was determined to find one they liked, and tried many. Finally the kids agreed on one they sort of liked but I think they may have just been trying to get done sampling chocolate because they wouldn't eat it once we got to the car. Definitely don't know where they get that from, I was downing the samples!
RaeAnn also took us to Bellevue square. It was such an awesome mall with every store you can imagine. The top floor had some toys for the kids to play on, so I hung out there with the kids while RaeAnn did some returns.
I was so amazed by how green and lush everything was in Seattle. It is so beautiful, I just wish it were closer :-) My sister really handles being a mom so well, she didn't even complain once while I was there about being sore, tired, or overwhelmed. It's so hard moving to a new place and having a baby right away, but her ward seems to really have jumped in and helped her.
I couldn't get over Macey's cute face! One morning I was making breakfast and Thomas was sitting next to Macey, and she started fussing. He kept putting her binki in and rubbing her belly and she went right to sleep. It was a sweet moment, and he was pretty proud.
Aside from the traffic the trip went perfectly. I wish we would have stayed longer, but we missed Emma and Nolan. Next time we'll have to take them with us! We stopped by Walla Walla and Boise on our way home, and were so excited to see Emma when we got to Malta.

Thank you for posting, thank you for coming! Love you so much, and hope to someday return the favor :)
Also, you should change the post date of this; it says three weeks ago, so it might not pop up on top of people's read lists?
Love you again.
Wow, I honestly don't know if I could do that! You are soooo nice to leave your family and drive all that way. I love teh pic of the kids lounging at the choc. factory. Also, now you know why Braydan wanted to leave the commuting of Seattle! The traffic is not fun :)
That was me that deleted the comment. Half of my comment didn't even make it in...anyway,
AHEM..Peeing in cups is always PERTINENT information. Never leave that out....you guys are reminding me of another set of sisters that drove far and wide to let their kids hang out, and well, really to hang out themselves. Pretty awesome.
