Thomas' Kindergarten Graduation

At the end of May Thomas had his Kindergarten graduation. Thomas missed so much school this year with different trips, and his tonsillectomy, I'm surprised they let him graduate at all! It was pretty low key but fun to see him and his class interact. They sang four or five songs, and then stated what they wanted to be when they grew up. Almost all the boys said firefighter, but Thomas said a builder. Guess he's been hanging around with Nolan too much. He does really enjoy walking through homes under construction and watches a lot of HGTV with me :-)
I'm so proud of Thomas. This year started as a pretty difficult one for him and me too having him gone all day. There are 35 kids in his class and a not so organized teacher to control them, so he came home quite often in tears about one thing or another. Luckily 3 months into the school year, they split the class so he was with about 18 most of the year. He learned to cope with a lot though, and is so much better at letting things go. He's excited for first grade!

That's cute they asked what they want to be. I should ask Kaleb :-) I don't think he would say firefighter or builder :)

Yeah, I really think the greatest benefit to public education is kids learning to deal with other kids, other adults, etc. You can teach them what they need to know knowledge wise most of the time, but it's hard to teach how to deal with natural, frustrating situations. I guess for mom's too!!! I'm scared. pretty awesome to see him so dang big.

If you thought this was good try one of these...
