This summer has been packed full of adventures. June was pretty mellow, but July seemed like it was all travel. We manage to still fit quite a bit of playing in at home too.
The fourth of July weekend was a lot of fun. It started on the third where Malta has a really fun party that the kids LOVE!
We stayed up late and watched fireworks there, and the next morning went to another small towns parade and celebration.
Thomas tried his best to climb the greased pole to get the $100 at the top, but it was too hard. We heard someone finally got it an hour later or so. I was proud of him for trying.
Thomas also keeps losing his teeth! His has lost 8 teeth now. I didn't lose any until first grade. Hopefully we will slow down on that for a little bit!
Emma has become quite independent. She love being outside, but hates it when I close the door on her. This is a problem here in Malta where for every second a door is open, a fly comes in! I don't know what it is about door closing but it really sets her off, whether it's closing a closet, toilet lid, box, or room door??? We're working on that! One of the biggest reasons I love living out here on the farm is that I will feel comfortable letting her play outside by herself. The kids usually join, and I check on her every 10 minutes or so, but she just explores all over the yard and sandbox. Some days I pay the price and she comes in quite filthy!
She loves feeding herself, much to my dismay, and can make quite the mess. I'm hoping she catches on to eating and staying clean soon!
The kids had their first sleep out on the trampoline with Nolan. They loved it and Grace slept in until 10, even with the tractors and semis driving by. Emma and I slept peacefully in our own beds!
I went to Stake Girls Camp this year.
Our Young Women did a Princess Party for a fundraiser. It was a big hit with Grace. My favorite part was the dance they learned to The Little Mermaid Song, "Kiss the Girl." I am mad I didn't record it. Seriously so cute!!!
Face painting is always a big hit for Grace. She also got her hair done, nails and toes painted, played games, and ate a lunch.
We love summer!
