Building A House Part 3
Well this past month things continue to chug along. We've been busy making choices I never thought of making. I laugh because we have purchased so many things online for this house. I don't think most people build this way but when you live out here, it's the only way to go. I think the mailman will be on our christmas card list this year!
For instance...
Bathroom faucets
Kitchen Sink
3 Fireplaces
Tile
Bathtubs
Speakers, and wiring
Heated flooring stuff and thermostats
Nolan is online from dinner to bedtime most nights reading reviews of products, and searching for what he likes the best out there. I'm so glad for his tireless research, this has become a 2nd full time job. I would just be picking the first thing that looked decent to me at home depot or lowes, but I know we are getting the best that will last us (hopefully) 40 years!
They came out and got shingles on the roof which was good timing because it's been a rainy few weeks and it was nice not seeing it soak all our wood. The smart siding has all been put up as well. Our house will not be this color fyi. It looks like a real house with the windows all cut out and what not. The electrician, heater guys, and plumber have all been going strong but it looks like a week or so more of that stuff.
You can see now the wall from the kitchen to the dining room framed. This is the view from the front door.
Our living room fireplace is framed you can also see the master in the back corner. This view is from the garage entry.
Front of the house
Back of the house. I want to get some basement pictures up on here, but it's really hard to explain, so hopefully next month when it's sheet rocked (fingers crossed).
This month a bunch of dirt was hauled away to to give our back yard the shape we are seeking. I think it was like 67 loads in a 10 wheeler, which for you non farmers, that is a lot. The kids are sad to not have the big pile to play on anymore, but it looks great.
Stay tuned because this next month I am hoping insulation, windows, doors, sheet rock, deck, and exterior color get done. Yes I know I think pretty positively!
