While the pizzas cooked we opened presents.
Then we ate and did a little freeze dance to Taylor Swift. Grace is a big fan these days. She wanted all the girls to wear blue shirts. Not sure why the minute they got there she decided to put on one of her dress ups??? Then we put makeup on and took some pictures.
The girls loved getting mascara and lipstick! Too bad I only really have lip gloss to choose from. They didn't mind. Grace is showing off her battle wounds. A couple days before she fell off a swing at a friends and got pretty beat up. Her name is deceiving because she is anything but graceful from day to day, and usually gets hurt every hour!
The girls played with the toys and outside for a bit, then we came in an each girl got to make her own fruit pizza on a sugar cookie.
They also wanted to go to our new house so we did that and they played around on the dirt piles for a bit. They wanted to ride in the back of the truck, but it made me nervous with other people kids so I let them ride in the trunk of our van. They were loving it, and when one girls mom came to pick her up she was like, "We had so much fun, and rode in Ashley's trunk!" I explained it was the trunk of my van! Then we went home and played statues, red light green light, and hide n seek. The time was perfect, but Grace wanted it to be longer of course. The next day was her real birthday and she brought cupcakes to her class that she helped decorate.
It was spirit week at school, and movie day so she got to wear her snow white dress up. She really was princess for a day. She wanted a unicorn cake so we got that done in the morning too.
After school Grandma Susy had lined up with a neighbor for Grace to go horseback riding. She was so excited and has been asking me forever when she could ride a horse.
She definitely enjoyed it, except for one moment when she went a little too fast by herself.
Emma also loved it a ton. I almost wished we had a horse of our own. ALMOST.
Then we had dinner, and opened presents at Nolan's mom's house, along with our Taylor cousins, and a couple of the Darin Harper cousins. It was wild opening presents and getting them fed, but Grace had a lot of fun. She got just what she wanted. An American Girl Doll. But really a knock off, I couldn't justify getting a real one and she is just as happy. She also got a patio set from Grandpa Blodgett, some doll clothes from Grandma and Grandpa Harper, and the Taylors, and a princess game, and Planes from the movie Planes from Nolan and I.
It was a great day. The next day we headed into town for a little birthday date just she and I. Following that we got her fingers casted at the Dr.'s office. We've been preparing for this as much as her birthday and we are officially going to get her done sucking her fingers!!
When it was over she was so confused why she was still going to preschool now that she was 5 and not Kindergarten, but she's okay knowing she'll be the oldest in her class NEXT year.

Ah! I can't believe I never saw this post! Can't believe Grace is %5! Do believe that she had a full-out perfect birthday week. I think Grace is one of the prettiest little girls ever. I love her smiles, and I love how she talks (even though I miss the smoker voice)! happy birthday! Jenna asked "where am I in these pictures?" haha
Yay! happy birthday Grace! I'm so mad at myself that I forgot to call back when she was home so I could actually talk to her...it sounds like she got to do lots of partying :) I am so impressed with your cakes every birthday, it looks way cute. I can't believe how old Grace is getting; it's crazy to see her riding a horse by herself! I also can't believe you got her fingers casted to stop the sucking...reminds me of when I had to dip my thumb in nail polish remover before bed to stop sucking my thumb. Hope it works!
oh poor Grace:( I've never heard of that before, getting her fingers casted.
Her birthday looked fun!
