Thomas Lowdown & Spirit Week

This boy has had a busy month. He started first grade and really loves it so far. His teacher is so great, and he comes home talking about school and happy with so many things there. Big change from last year.
He has also now lost 8 teeth. Crazy boy, I'm hoping he'll slow down a bit now. The second week of school was spirit week. It was kind of a pain each day thinking of what he could wear, but he loved it so whatever.

One day was twin day, that he and his friend Hyrum dressed the same for.

Another was movie day and he was Dusty from the movie planes. Nolan is the quick thinker here, not me.

Spirit Day was the last day and we mohawked his hair and dyed it blue. He thought this was pretty awesome. This was also the day of a fundraiser the school was doing. It was a jogathon and the kids ran for 30 minutes around the track after they had gotten pledges for doing so. He ran 10 laps, so 2 and 1/2 miles. I was proud of him, and he was pretty tired and thirst after all of it.

After school was the Homecoming parade and Thomas and Grace were in our primary's one dressed up as pioneers. Grace sat in the handcart (middle back) and threw candy, while Thomas pulled it. They were so cute.

The next night Nolan played in the alumni football game along with his brother Jonathan. (Nolan is in the front row, white jersey, to the left of $24) They had a ton of people show up as you can see. Nolan was quite the star of the game though, throwing the first touchdown pass, intercepting the ball, and had some other good runs and tackles in there. He was like a boy at Christmas afterwards. It was fun to see him in action for the first time, and hear his name over the announcing speakers over and over.

what is it about seeing malta that makes me homesick? must be my sweet nephew! I did laugh that you described Nolan as next to #24 instead of just saying his number. Go No No! Did you hear Nolan made a touchdown? No one did?

haha to RaeAnn's comment...never gets old :)
Thomas is so cute as a plane; I don't think I ever put that much creativity into my spirit week outfits. Malta does have some cool things that you don't get from other places--like having your kids dressed up as pioneers in the parade and having alumni football games.

If you thought this was good try one of these...
