Building a House Part 4

I am a little behind on the monthly update on our house. This last month has been hectic deciding on where to place lights, and outlets, and making sure things are being put in the way we want. We also had to decide how much to upgrade the insulation, and the thickness of the sheet rock, and sound barriers in our basement. So many choices and no one will ever know we made them. So I had to write them here so we will know!  Here is what else happened in the last month of building. Please excuse my photo bomber Mr. T. he was a little hyper on this visit to the house...
We got our windows and doors put on!! It was hard to know which windows we wanted screens, and what way to have them open, etc. but we really like them. I love having the exterior doors on too. Now our house feels warmer when walking around inside.
This is a view of our front door. We will be staining it a darker wood finish. The room is the office.
The view from the dining room.
We also got our bathtubs put in. This is the upstairs guest bath, and oh is it a nice tub. I like this one more than our master, but Nolan likes the master one more. Regardless, I will be soaking in both.
The fireplaces are partially in. This is the view of the master bedroom from our bathroom. Emma is our photo bomber here.
 Living Room fireplace...
This is the view from the front door to the dining room. The pipe in the ground is where the island will be. So the plumbing, heating, electricity and insulation were all finished this last month as well. This picture doesn't totally show all the can lights in this room, but there are a lot. Nolan put in an additional 79 can lights in our house from the original bid. To say we are going way over our original electric bid is an understatement!

Back of the house. Can't wait for the deck!
Not too exciting, but we also got our 2 septic tanks. That's a lot of double! Nolan dug the hole and put these bad boys in. I sure hope he did it all correctly!!
The well was also dug. This is for people who are interested in well talk, which happens to be a lot of people out here in Malta, but they hit water at 250 feet, and we dug another 130 for safe measure. I hope it is good tasting water!!
Lastly our garage. I just like it, I don't know why. I still can't seem to capture the basement well in pictures, but hopefully the next post I will be able to. All the Sheetrock has been delivered so we are hoping it goes in next week! Then things will really come together.  Beet harvest is over so this week we are headed to Salt Lake to really make some decisions on tile, carpet, lighting etc.

I am so excited for you guys - it looks beautiful!! I can't wait til one day, in the probably pretty distant future, that we actually get to build a house and make all the decision - probably super stressful, but it's everything you want! And I love the photo-bombers!!

It's so fun to read your blog! Those kids are so darling! I loved the pictures of Nolan and Thomas when they were the same age. Amazing look a-likes! The bathtub pictures are funny and I loved the fall one of them and the cousins. That's neat you're blogging about your house too. It's going to be great!

How did I not see this? It is so coming together and now you are sheet rocked? I can't wait to take a bath in MY bathroom! And I am more than curious as to if the can lights will illuminate far enough that we can see a faint glow from our backyard.

If you thought this was good try one of these...
