Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, the oldest living apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died last night, age 91. Elder Wirthlin had gone to bed at his Salt Lake City home, and died peacefully at about 11:30 pm of causes incident to age. He had continued to work at his office right up until the Thanksgiving holiday. I have been so influenced in the last couple months by his latest talk at conference Come What May and Love It. It is one of my absolute favorites.

I didn't even know that yet. I also loved that talk. It looks like it was a good funeral and I'm glad you could be with a lot of your family. That is a long drive; I'm glad the kids did good. You guys sure have been busy. Love ya
Thanks for the post. His talk in Oct. was my ablsolute favorite. We are so lucky to have examples of people that lived such long inspiring lives.
I agree~ That was a great talk!
I'm sad. I was already a little somber today, but your last 2 posts have got me a little emotional now. Two great lives and examples for all of us. I'm thankful they both lived long full lives on earth and that the promises in Heaven are even greater. Thanks for sharing your memories and thoughts.
Geez, I hadn't heard that yet. I guess I haven't turned on the TV yet today, I'm sure it will be all over the news tonight. I'll miss hearing him speak, seems like I don't ever remember a conference without him!

Elder Wirthlin came to our Stake for conference a few years ago. He isn't a very tall man, but the message was. I agree with RaeAnn- loved that talk, also the one "Sunday will Come." There surely is a party in Heaven right now. Love you Ashley
thanks for telling us that. I didn't know. I loved that talk too!
I love Elder Wirthlin! He was such a sweet humble man. I didn't know he passed away. Thanks for doing a post.
p.s. I like to see what other people are reading so I'm glad you added that. And we didn't get new couches. I WISH! It's a cream color recliner chair. Our house really isn't that nice. Trust me! I'm working on it slowly though. That's funny about THomas on the potty. Sorry it didn't work! I wonder if I'll keep up with it when baby comes cause it does take time and is a pain. We'll see! Okay I'm done now!
oh man, i love that talk too. ironically, I just read it tuesday morning before I found out. the apostles are such amazing men.
We have conference on our DVR and I listen to Elder Wirthlins talk often. We will miss him. I think his talk helped many people.
