I think he might be onto some break dancing sometimes the way he will balance on his head.
Nolan made Thomas this garage over Christmas break and it has really helped in keeping him entertained.
Today I came into the living room, and Grace was laying under her play mat, and Thomas had put cars on her belly and was talking to her so fast, she was very amused. It didn't last long, but it was so sweet, and got me excited for the future of them playing together.
On a side note I made these Hello Dolly Bars, Magic Bars, 7 layer bars, whatever you call them, and the are so ADDICTIVE. I am eating myself into an early grave, I need to hide them somewhere. Every time I make them I vow not to eat so many, but alas the 9 X 13 always magically disappears quicker than it should. Try them they're so easy, you'll love them.
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 can (15 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
Preparation:Melt the butter; mix in graham cracker crumbs. Pat crumb mixture in a 9-x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients over the crumbs in order given, in layers. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over all. Do NOT stir. Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

Those look way too tempting. I'm going to have to try them. I'm glad you had some good vacation time. Your kids are so cute as always.
I had to give up making those Satan Treats along time ago. If you continue to eat them, you will not be able to do somersaults as well as Thomas.
Hey the JCPenney pics turned out so adorable! You'll have to explain the BANG game...any game that can get that many adults to garb up in Cowboy hats must be entertaining. Glad the holidays were so fun for you. I thought it was crazy that Grace rolled over three times on Christmas and then not again. Jake did the exact same thing.
I love the little garage Nolan built, it is perfect! I love Grace's bow, she looks so cute! i will have to try those treats, I love new ideas!
I am glad that they are just beginning to play together -well maybe Thomas is trying to play with Grace but it still works. The garage Nolan built is awesome and is probably better than any one you could buy. I am sure he loves it. Oh and the recipe is one of my favorites but unfortunately I am not very good at making it so I tend not to. I'll have to give it another try!
Thanks for your help with the teethers for the crib we will look first thing on Monday!
Oh my heck, thomas is so cute!! why didn't you just come here while Nolan was gone?? haha, just kidding.
Mmmm...that sounds really good. Man I have such a sweet tooth right now, so I really shouldn't try it...but it's very tempting. I might give in.
...and having a bday keeps you entertained too I hope! Hope all of your birthday wishes come true!
Happy Birthday Ashley! I had my bday here in Seattle.
Thomas looks cute in the video.
I love the garage you guys made him. Next thing will be a doll house for Grace in a few years. We had fun making and decorating the girls barbie house.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!! It looks like you are surviving. Thomas and Grace will be playing together before you know it. Heidi and Tyler are starting too- actually Tyler just follower her around, but he's still being entertained by her. Love the purple bow/pacifier/clothes, what a cutie!
Thomas is so talented and Grace is so pretty. Also, Dan and I are so impressed with Nolan's garage. That's so awesome that he could make that for Thomas.
Happy Birthday to You! I hope you have a great day.
Cute kids. Love the garage!!
Those bars sound yummy
liz
Cute cute kids, and sweet garage. Good job, No-lan. Love your new background.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Jill's lil' tribute is so nice. Hope you had a GREAT day!
...okay, I love your background, but I don't think it's new because of the Christmas pic at top. I've commented lately, so I'm not sure why I thought it was new?!
Anyways, one more thing. Yummy recipe, I do a similar one. You and your sweet recipes which I love. I remember you always making the nutty butty delight and the caramel popcorn.
Okay, I'm done. :)
Happy Birthday Ashley! I hope it was a nice day. The garage Nolan made is way cooler than a store bought one. I bet he loves it. I also love Grace in all the purple. Cute picture. hope the kids are healthy or getting there. We're now sick here. Blah...
I know those bars are addicting! We love to see pictures of the kids. Thanks! You're such good parents. Love ya
k don't even get me started trying your magic dolly bars or whatever you called them .. they sound so yumma! and i'm really surprised that grace has such a hard time performing .. i mean doesn't it like run in her genes (wigga what!)late as always but hope your birthday was great .. always fun to see pics of the fam and it's amazing how fast the littles ones are growing!
haha, I loved how Thomas was all excited about it, then all of a sudden stone-faced. AND that car garage is awesome! I want one! (buddy the elf).
I love the homemade garage. We did the same thing for Madison, only I made a kitchen out of a cardboard box. Much cheaper, and they don't even know the difference. I'm going to have to try those bars. They sound great!!
Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great one! How do you like the big 24!!
Matthew and I loved the video of Thomas. Matthew still has some trouble with doing a real somersault, he goes to the side instead of all the way over. Thomas was pretty graceful. That is awesome that Nolan made that car thing. I wish Glen or I were talented like that. Grace is so cute and getting so big.
Cool garage! I'm always so impressed by Nolan. Eleanore has been loving cars (or {"vroom vrooms" as she calls them these days too). I am glad your two kiddies are playing together...how fun! P.S. I love that Grace's paci matches her outfit -- HAHA!
BTW: Bryan and I were going to call you for your b-day last night, really, but your phone nubmer is in my cell phone which was in the diaper bag in Eleanore's room where she was sleeping. I didn't want to wake her up...I knew you'd understand. Hope your day was great! Maybe I'll call you today.
**American Idol starts tomorrow!**
Maybe I should have written you an email?
Grace is getting so big!! They both are adorable. Glad to hear things are going good for you :)
happy b-day cousino! Hope you do something fun when Nolan gets back. What's his calling w/ the youth? Did you guys get leather couches? They look nice. Can Nolan make Kaleb that garage? What a nice daddy. I love the CARS collection too. I think I now have that movie memorized too! Kachow!!!
very cool and creative of nolan to make that car garage! i love homemade gifts. ok so happy birthday! i was so excited you won! i have your package all ready to go! i'll mail it tomorrow or the day after. i got your address off my blog so i will probably erase it now just to be safe! i hope you have a great day!
That garage is awesome!! We may have to copy you!! Your kids are so cute!! You are a trooper... I think I would die if Zach left town!! Your the best! :)
I love the garage and I need one! My boys have been so stir crazy and it is starting to drive me crazy- winter is just too boring for little guys that need to run and get outside- I can't wait for spring! Your kids are adorable in their onesies!

that is soooo funny, as I'm sitting here reading this. I too am chowing down on those exact same bars. Made em yesterday they are crazy good... I had to hide them from myself. Someone is definantly gonna have to roll me out the door sooon.
your little ones are getting so big and cute
Hey we want you guys to come over for dinner (over the mountain that is!) Are you up for it? If so when is good for you guys, weekend, weekday, Sunday? let me know;0)
holy moly! uhhh... Happy Birthday (lets just pretend that was posted a couple of days ago -k-!) Dang it I wish I would have known, sorry! You want to do a late birthday lunch in Walla Walla with Amy? That could be fun!
This is so funny, I just read your comment about Thomas and Brooklyn being so much alike, then I watch your video of Thomas doing somersaults. Brooklyn just out of the blue did one last night, she's never done it before. SO WEIRD!! The recipe looks yummy, I'll have to try it! Your kids are so cute!
Ashley, your two little ones sure are cute. Grace sure is growing up. Seriously, I don't know how moms handle more than one child! I'm sure I'll figure it out one day, but I'm impressed by anyone that can take care of two kids without going crazy while their husband is out of town.
Cutie kids! Can't believe Grace is rolling over already. Keep the recipes coming, we might as well all get fat together!
I just made those about a week and half ago for the first time, they were called seven layer cookies, but I could only count 6 layers. I stopped trying to figure it out and just ate most of the pan. I think my kids like it when I am trying to get the treats out of the house (so I don't eat them) because then they get extras.
