We also went to dinner with 2 other couples. We had fun catching up, but with an hour long wait for our food and kids 6 and under, there were some traumatic moments. Like Thomas spilling his water twice, and climbing over the booth.
I think it is about time to start feeding Grace baby food so I stocked up on a ton of Vegetables and made this. It takes a lot of work, but it's cheap, healthy, and it seemed to help Thomas move onto the normal taste of veggies when it was time. Here I've done carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and I need to do beans, peas, and corn.
We discovered this new game
and played a ton with some friends. They had us over for prime rib dinner Sunday and then we played some more while watching Amazing Race.

At 3 am, Nolan and I moved her pac n play into the kitchen, and enjoyed 3 hours of sleep until Nolan went to work and woke her up, and Thomas followed suit. Yesterday I was feeding her a half of cheerio and discovered her first tooth! Pretty crazy to feel that all of the sudden, makes me feel like she is so grown up all the sudden. This picture is a little freaky, and you can't see the tooth, but it makes me laugh. She's a pretty good sport.

Great post Ashley! I'm impressed with your baby food. You froze them in ice cube trays right? That's so smart. I've spent so much on food for Tyler. Great job. Grace has a tooth! That's crazy. Maybe that's why she isn't sleeping?? I've never heard of the new game. We'll have to play. Is it like ticket to ride? Johnny has a new ninja/karate game that is pee your pants funny! Less than 2 more weeks! Did Susy tell you she has Brandi Zollinger and my Brandon to tend all the kids while we go to the Temple? I hope that's okay. I think it will work good.
how fun I hope that he picks melissa too! Hey can you comment from reader?
liz
you are sooo domestic :) will you send me some of those strawberries?
Aren't you so sad about Jill, though? I loved her! We'll be watching, too. And by we I DO NOT mean Brent. My sister's comin over. :) Do you have one of those baby food mills? My mom used one at every meal for all of us. I'll totally be getting one...then you just mash up whatever you're eating...well, as long as it's baby appropriate. But, I think it may make us eat better, which we could definitely use. I'm sure I'll be freezing some, too, of course. Great idea!
Can I get a DRAMA! That was almost more than I could handle tonight. Crazy Bachelor needs to get it together and make up his mind. Hope your party was fun. And awesome job on the baby food. Grace is looking so grown up.
cute pics! hope you had a fun party. all i have to say about Jason is ...what the..... ???? I'm so annoyed. haha.
A new game!!! I want to play and we need to play ticket to ride online again, but I am NEVER online, so that makes it hard! Oh and the bachelor....well we didn't watch at all this season, but we watched the finale and for me I hate to see it, but Molly is so much more mature to me than Melissa! Oh well, maybe I'm missing something from the rest of the shows!
I am impressed that you make your own baby food. I am going to try that with our next baby (whenever that might be). I haven't heard of that board game before so I will have to check it out. We like to play games around here and it is always fun to add to the collection. Hope you enjoyed your strawberries more than I enjoyed the show - it was pretty disappointing.
Oh man! I just left you this big long comment and something went wrong! Ughh! I'm so glad that you've got friends and that Nolan must be home and that Grace is getting a tooth and that you made baby food. You are amazing! I watched the bachelor!?!? What the heck? I was so happy one minute. Confused, mad, sad, then happy. I honestly don't think this man knows what he wants. Poor Melissa. I wish I knew more about what happened. Molly's pretty amazing to give him another chance. Hope it works out. Oh! Your new game looks fun! Bring it to Malta if you can!
sounds like a great weekend! We love to take the boys to the park, they have a blast. Hope the party was fun! I love getting together with a bunch of girls, it doesn't matter what you do it is always fun! Love the frozen baby food, I used the baby food mill and loved it, it was so much cheeper than buying it pre-made.
So would you recommend that game? Here is another good one for you... STONE AGE. Have you played that one? It is pretty fun. It is pretty inspiring see you get all the fruit and veggies for Grace. I was pretty lazy and would just buy baby food. Maybe with my next one I will give it a try!!
I like the close-up pictures, especially of Grace's big blue eyes :) Sounds like a fun weekend. We'll have to try those games sometime. I've been doing food purees a lot too cause I got the "Deceptively Delicious" cookbook. Basically I've been sneaking spinach in pizza, caulifower in scrambled eggs, butternut squash in quesidillas . . . It is a pain, but Kaleb is getting more veggies and he doesn't even know it! Ha, ha.
I can't believe that your little Grace is old enough to have teeth and be starting baby food! Where does the time go? It looks so nice outside there, we still have so much snow! today is the first nice day we've had. I'm so ready for spring and to be able to go outside! Can you believe the Bachelor, that was just crazy! I saw that he was gonna be on Jimmy Kimmel so I recorded it and watched it today, he gave him a pretty bad time. You should check out the video clip. It was really funny, I saw it on yahoo earlier today.
wow, it sounds like you been enjoying some good eatin' this weekend, huh?? I love it when Thomas does that with his lips, he's such a funny boy. Also, you used red-eye remover on that first picture of Grace didn't you?? I can't believe Grace has her first tooth. Weird!! We're saving her baby food here whenever she's ready :) oh, and speaking of food, I bought Ritz crackers so you can make poppy seed chicken when you come cuz I just love it! And I have a story to tell you!
How did I miss this post? Can't wait to see you. It will be nice to have you make an effort to come to Boise and visit your family. It has been way too long. Oh and that park looks FREAKINGLY close to the Meridian one. Way weird.
That is such a good idea for the baby food. Also does your friend live here in Houston?
you didn't by chance take grace to see twighlight did you?? i saw that teeth picture and wondered :) so you should do a tuturial on the baby food . .just reading the other comments is sounds like you freeze them in icecube trays? so do you puree them first? then ice them then let them thaw when it's feeding time? i'm following in your footsteps so you have to teach me things like this. poor nolan - ha - i just saw his "recovery" picture from your lasik post. glad that went well!!
I love the pic of her teeth. That's funny she is so easy going. Way to go on the baby food. That's such a great way to save money!
