We have really enjoyed things here. Our first day to venture into D.C. was last weekend and we took the Metro
and went to China Town,
and three different museums. The name of D.C. for me is WALKING. We bought this double stroller on Craigslist here and I am so glad that we had it. We were shocked how many people were out and about last Saturday. EVERYWHERE you looked crowds and traffic. Of course it was the Kite Flying convention, Cherry blossom opening ceremonies, and spring break week.
This is the Smithsonian Castle. So cool looking. We went home that night and had the pleasure of getting visitors!! Jill, Glen, and their two kids who are the same age as Thomas and Grace came out to see us. We spent all of Sunday seeing the monuments. Lincoln Memorial, Roosevelt monument, Jefferson monument, and the war memorials. It was a good Sunday activity. There is such a reverence in those places.
Isn't this picture awesome. These two are buds, even though many arguments were broken up!
The Laus left today but it was a fun week of more museaums, swimming, parks, the zoo, and D.C. I'm so grateful they drove the 8 hours to see us. They made my week go by so quickly, and I loved spending so much individual time with each of them.
We have an open room if anyone wants to come now:-) More pictures to come. 2 weeks down, 3 to go.

Love the pic. Thomas and his cousin are so darn cute and I love the pic of you, Grace and the blossoms. That is fantastic that Jill and her family came for a visit -- what a great experience. I know you'll look back at the adventures Nolan's job is giving you guys as great memories someday. LIVE IT UP!!!
I love the picture of Thomas and Matthew! What cute buds! I love how the boys were in one strolled and the girls in another. Sounds like you guys had lots of fun together!
So fun to see all your amazing pics while you are on your trip! So fun!
You guys are so great to get out and do so much sightseeing where ever Nolan's job takes you. I guess here in Philly we are only about 2 1/2 hours from D.C. We contemplated at least driving down to D.C. until we realized that we couldn't leave PA and then when I saw your post I was so sad that we were so close to friendly faces but couldn't do anything about it. Hope your last few weeks is just as good.
