Thomas is Four!

Today we celebrated Thomas fourth birthday. It was much anticipated! We've been counting down the days since the 5th. It was such a fun day. We started by going to his preschool. We brought cupcakes for the kids to decorate and they had a blast. Then at circle time, Thomas was featured and his favorite book was read. He felt so special. Then at 4:30 friends came over and we had some fun games set up for them to play. It was really fun. I think there were 17 people here, and it was a really fun night. We also had a bike race and then they rode around on their bikes for a while. We had cake and opened presents. I cannot believe we didn't get a picture of his cake. It is making me so sad, I have video, but no picture. It was a bike cake, but you can't tell in the picture. It actually turned out really well. He got more puzzles, a road set, lots of fun new cars, flips flops and his T-Ball set. Later that night we went out for dinner. We got a private closed room with our group, and it was great for all the kids to run around before and after they ate and all the adults could just talk.
So nice! Thomas is such a great kid. This past year he's changed and grown so much. He is quite independent and has the brain of an engineer and will spend so much time constructing. Whether it's his marble run, train tracks, puzzles, Leggos, or block creations. The best is when Nolan is helping him, he always is correcting things Nolan does: "Dad it goes like this." He's always so proud of his creations, so I am. My brain just doesn't work like that. After I've oooh'd and awe'd a little, he asks if he can wreck it and build another. When he's not building, he loves wrestling, chasing and tickling. He loves helping me cook, and pours in all my ingredients, and is pretty good at using the blender. His new obsession is riding his bike, and throwing balls around the yard. There are 5-10 older kids that congregate in our little town home common area, and usually Thomas is constantly saying, "Hey friends, come play with me." They're pretty sweet with him, and if Nolan's out there, Thomas is the most popular kid on the block!

Thomas is very sincere, and grateful. He's never been very obsessed with treats, unlike his sister, and the other day I bought them a bag of licorice which they'd never had. The whole drive home he held it in his arms and kept saying, thank you so much mom, this is my favorite! He also says "I'm really sorry mom," which melts my heart, and Mmmm...delicious when he eats his daily breakfast of oatmeal, strange I know.

Anyways, I could go on, but I'll stop. Happy Birthday Mr. T!
