Nolan's Lip Surgery

Just a warning these pictures make me cringe!
A couple months ago Nolan bit his lip and it made a sore there like a big blister/bubble that just kept getting bigger and bigger. It was hard scar tissue that was painful and annoying. He kept re-biting it on accident because it was so hard to avoid. It's been bothering him a lot and we were pretty concerned about what could be going on so we went to the dentist to get it checked out. They did not think that it would go away on its' own and needed to take it off. So last week he went in and they did just that...poor guy has been in quite a bit of pain last couple of weeks, but we're finally seeing it heal. He had a biopsy on it and everything came out okay, so we were happy, and now hopefully it will heal and we can move on from that.
Last week I also went to the dentist and surprise surprise, I had 6 cavities and one cracked tooth! I am a dentists dream patient, I mean you can always rely on me to have a cavity every 6 months. I am so tired of cavities. When I was pregnant with Thomas I had 10, then with Grace I had 9, and since then have had another 10 filled. I seriously work hard at avoiding this, and use a prescription toothpaste, and floss every other day at least. I am just annoyed that we have no dental insurance. Nolan's work offers it, but it really didn't cover much to make it worth it even with my issues.
Now hopefully we'll be good for a bit, the kids were clear with no problems so that made me happy.
Our good news is that we celebrated our 7 year anniversary yesterday, and spent a great weekend away in Spokane together as a family. More on that later...

Ouch!!! Hope it heals soon!

And holy cow on your cavities! Dental insurance never seems worth it. We had it, and decided it just wasn't worth it!

OH MY GOODNESS! All I can say, is those pictures look like a fish, with a big sore! Cracked us up. (sorry to laugh Nolan) That stinks that it's been so painful for him.
Yuck for your cavities. That is a really lot of cavities. Poor girl. You need a dentist for a Bro-in-Law. Maybe we can talk Johnny into being one! Glad the kids were good though. Do you do flouride for them? The water here has no flouride, so I give our kids a flouride pill after they brush their teeth.
Paying a dentist is the worst.....a necessary evil.

Poor Nolan! And poor you with all the dentist bills! I really need to go, but I'm avoiding it. I probably have more than you!

Happy Anniversary too! Can't wait to read about it :)

I had one of those incidents with my mouth years ago. After they removed that pesky little devil I stood up and passed out. Drama!! Everytime I happen to bite my lip now, i get worried that it will happen again. sorry about the cavities. Happy Anniversary. One of the Great Marriages!!

WOW! That was gross! Sure sorry you had to go through that, Nolan. I'll bet it was so hard to eat! I'm sure glad you got it taken care of. Hope its healing well! Sorry about your cavities, Ashley! Can they do sealants? That was so nice of you guys to help Steve and Barbara with their cabin to pay them back. I know they love to be with you and appreciated your help so much.

YOUCH! Poor Nolan! That looks horribly painful!

Have you ever seen a different dentist about your cavities? Some times I don't really trust them. I know they have lied to my Dad (who has never had a cavity in his life!) AND Jami (she has, but they still fibbed) before about having some when they didn't! Wowzers, so when you are pregnant do you get cavities because of the pregnancy hormones or something? Is that very common? I don't have dental insurance either, Matt does thankfully, but it really is just too darn expensive!!!

If you thought this was good try one of these...
