Well another month has passed and we are creeping towards completing our house. I think in my last post I said we were hoping to move in at the end of April??? Well to that I say HA! I mean not even close. We still have no idea when it will be done and we have stopped guessing, but I'd love to be in before June. That would make it a year since we broke ground. Fingers crossed we don't go over that.If I were to title this months work it would be FLOORS, ROCK, and LIGHTS!
This week our wood floors have been installed, and even though they are very dirty in these pictures, you can see the beautiful potential below.
We went with a hand scraped, engineered wood floor. It is laid in 3 different sizes of planks. I'd like to say this was an easy choice, but it took us a very long time to find just what we wanted. A true brown color, no yellow or red, and a good price. So happy with how it turned out.
All 3 fireplaces are now rocked and almost finished. I really love how they turned out. Check out the sconces, Nolan took the reins big time and ordered all the lights with minimal input on my part. This seems to be a pattern, but if I have to make another decision I think I'll die!
The cabinets on either side of our mantle in the Master Bedroom have been installed and I think it looks dreamy. I'm so excited to be laying in my bed looking at our fireplace!
This is another light fixture in the Master bath. I love it so much, Nolan, ya did good.
Our basement Fireplace. We are still waiting on the sconces and speakers. But don't you love the dark wood with the light rock? Say yes, or else!
Finished Master bath, isn't it beautiful? Now I begin the rant of tile laying. Oh my this has been a huge task taken on by none other than Nolan of course. This past month he's been working on the farm 6 days a week from 9-7. He usually goes to our house before work starts, then after work until the wee hours to tile. You'd think it wouldn't be such a daunting task, but it ended up being a ton of square feet of tile when you include shower walls, ceilings, floors, etc. I don't even know how much we saved in labor, but I know it's well over $1,000. Everything turned out so well. Nolan's brother Darin, his mom, and his sister and brother in-law all helped on different occasions and we're so glad they did. They were a huge help. I however was not. I tried my best but with 4 kids every by my side I am more of a hindrance than help.
The upstairs shower/bath
The floor in the downstairs bath and entry.
My favorite tile which is in our bathroom, the laundry room, and the mudroom.
And here is my contribution to the house projects. Got the nursery wall painted, and even though our painter says the lines are wavy, I think it's perfect and I can't wait to see the crib against that wall! Who knows what will be posted next. Cabinets need installed, exterior needs painted, cement poured, granite put in, Plumbing and electric fixtures. Wish us luck!

I honestly like everything...it's going to be so cool to have your kids grow up in a house where you laid your own tile and painted your own lines!
I love, love, love the light fixtures, especially the one in the bathroom. Your house looks more and more beautiful every time you post; I am so excited to see the final product!! :)
My favorite is the basement fireplace... just tons of rock! Every choice you have made is stunning. we may move in.
