Heritage Homestead

Well I am so happy to announce that we have finally moved into our new house! We moved in on Pioneer Day, so I thought nothing would be more fitting than to name our new house Heritage Homestead. I'm still working on other names. We'll see :-) This post is long overdue, but my camera was one of the last boxes to be unpacked, so now I have it.
Before we start, imagine the smell of fresh paint, and new Sheetrock. Our tour begins entering from our garage.

On the left you will see our Mudroom. I am so happy to have this room. If the last 3 years married to a farmer and living in the country have taught me anything it's that you need a catch all room, and this is just that. Everyone gets a cubbie. The kids are really good about keeping their shoes underneath and hanging jackets. Hopefully it sticks.

To the right is the laundry room.

We are adding more of the sea glass subway tile to the left of the window. I really love this room. I actually look forward to putting a load of laundry and organizing the clothes :-) Another thing I hope that sticks. And here my friends, is the kitchen.
I love this room, who am I kidding I love every room. But come on, here we have a double oven, ice making fridge, and ample storage. My goal every day is to keep the 10 foot Island clear of clutter.

Off the kitchen is this dining room. Surrounded by windows viewing nothing but farm land, I come in here with my lunch and a cup of ice water and meditate. Happiness is this room. I walk out to view my living room.
We spend a lot of time in this room, I love our new pillows, brings in the color.

Down the hall is my bedroom/retreat.
I just bought that nightstand and I love it so much. I am on the hunt for its' match. Our first night sleeping here was kind of a wild night. At around 3 in the morning we were awoken to our fire alarm going off. It was terryfing.
Other side of our room. Still working on decorating the shelves.
Master Bath
Heated tile,
and a great shower head. It has so much pressure, I love standing under the water. Feels like a massage.
James finally stole the crib from Emma. He is happy in here, and I'm so happy to have him out of our room. Another first night story. James woke up and I went and nursed him. He was having a hard time sleeping so I walked around his room with him, and outside his window were tons of stars. The big dipper was so bright. It was beautiful, and a sweet memory with my baby boy.
Here is the guest bath on the main floor.
Going down the stairs, you see that opening on the left? That leads to a little loft area, and...
a slide. A very fast slide I might add. The kids love it, and have figured out how to go down slowly on it. I've always dreamed of a slide in my dream house.
Under the stairs is a little Drive through. You can order in the first window and pay at the second.
Another view of the playroom. You can see the loft here, and ladder to get down from it if you choose to forgo the slide.
Here are a couple views of our living room.

So far we haven't watched too many movies down here, but I'm guessing it will be the playroom for our teenagers in the future.
Down the hall from there, we have a desk area for the kids. I'm searching for the perfect chairs.

Emma's room is one of my favorites too! My sister found these hot air balloons at Seattle's Anthropologie, and sweetly brought them undamaged through the 12 hour drive. Emma is doing awesome in her big girl bed. Another first night story....I put her in her bed after making such a big deal of it all. I left the door open as I left and she didn't make a peep so I headed upstairs to help continue unpacking. An hour later as Nolan's parents were leaving, they thought they heard a mouse in our storage room. We opened the door to find Emma sitting there, eating Lucky Charms from the food storage. I guess she wasn't going to adjust to a new bed as smoothly as I thought!
Grace's Room. As she says, "If you want to go to Hawaii, go in her room." On our second day here, Grace also exclaimed, "I feel like we are living in a dream mom." Both kids are so excited to finally be moved in. Moving is hard with 4 kids. I'm so glad this is our last move ever!
And lastly on the tour, Thomas room. Since moving in we have stayed busy with new house projects: Buried the trampoline, painted the garage floor, built a work table in garage, put in 16 zones of sprinklers, etc. If we could get the rain to stop we'd get our yard seeded for grass, but it's been a crazy rainy month here. Nothing we've experience before. Not great timing for farmers trying to harvest, but good for wives getting to do's marked off their lists. I'd much rather we get harvest done though. Life has been so great being in our dream home. I look around many times and can't believe this is really ours. Now come over for a real tour!

It is stunning. I stared at every picture for so long just taking in the counters, flooring, tiles, woodwork, paint, etc.

I love the little accents like the side table, and pillows.

You can feel that it feels like home!

It is a dream . I love it!!!! The big wide open space and huge windows in the main room and kitchen are just amazing. I think the sectional was a good choice for upstairs and all your pillows are really fun. I might even start to love cooking if I had your kitchen :) And I really just want to visit and lay on your bed with you and watch the Bachelor or something fun. That might sound weird but your room just looks so relaxing I love it! I can't wait to visit!

Emma's curtains are so cute! The balloons look way cute too, but I would try them closer together, like one on one side of the head of her bead, and the two on the other side (head of bead)

OH my gosh, this is INCREDIBLE!!! Sorry if this is a second comment, I tried leaving one earlier. So I haven't looked any ANYONE'S blog in seriously 2 years. I update mine once every few months and backdate entries just so I can print off a book as a journal. Anyways, someone posted on your wall this morning, and it appeared on my feed, so I had to come check it out. Ashley, this is amazing!! Congrats, guy guys! I love it all!! Love love love. I may just have to drag some of your pictures to my "house" folder for when we build!

WOW!!! Your home is beautiful, seriously, I am in LOVE! Maybe one day you can help me design my dream home.:) I desperately need your mudroom, those cubbies and drawers are perfect. And I keep telling Brandon if I had my dream kitchen I would totally keep the counters un-cluttered... you'll have to let me know how that goes. Really, I love everything!!!
